Te Huruhi School update

Tuesday 19th October

Kia ora koutou

After the announcement that we would be in lockdown for at least another two weeks, I thought it important to communicate with you.

This week has been catered for with our distance learning programmes.  I have to say I was marvelled to hear of zooms attended by numbers in the 20s and 30s by our tamariki. I heard of wonderful seesaw recordings and a lovely positive vibe from our staff and tamariki.  More physical packs were asked for and have been distributed today to those who said they needed them. If not, they are on their way!

We will be waiting to hear what Minister Chris Hipkins says on Wednesday 20th about schools opening before we send out our weekly form for next week.

If we are in the same situation as this week, we will be asking parents without any child supervision at home to complete the form between Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd October. This way we can ensure we have the right number of staff at school next week, including covid testing completed by relevant staff within the timeframe.

We will be in touch as soon as we know more.
