Kiaora koutou, Ange Munns and myself(Fhiona Wainwright) have teamed up together to run Waiheke Voices. Singing groups aimed at unlocking your child’s passion for music and singing. Please email email@example.com to book a place and for more information. I am an experienced teacher who has been running choirs, singing groups and bands in schools for many years . Ange is a music teacher with years of experience in instrumental teaching and as a member of Sister Shout has experience performing herself. Here’s some great reasons why your child could benefit from joining a singing group (taken from the Sing Foundation Website).
- Singing lowers cortisol and relieves stress and tension.
- Singing provides an unthreatening way to express emotions.
- Singing boosts confidence.
- Singing helps you believe in yourself
- Singing together creates a strong sense of community and social inclusion.
Research finds it improves your maths by 40%, it develops musicality and most importantly ….. IT’S FUN!
We’ve been given some funding by the Waiheke Rotary(a huge shout out and thank you to them) to be able to offer these classes at a much reduced cost. We don’t want anyone to miss out because they can’t afford to come. We hope to be able to run a Year 3 and 4 group soon. (Please contact us if you are able to sponsor another child to join or if you need help with paying for your child as there will be some free spaces available).
Nga mihi nui, Fhiona and Ange
